Opal Morgan Passed Away, Funeral Arrangements and Request for Missions Memorial Fund 02/18/2012
0 Comments

Miss Opal Morgan, 86, and a member of Morgantown Church since 1945, passed away early this morning, February 18th. More information about her life and personal ministry impact will be forthcoming.

In lieu of flowers, Miss Opal had made the request for those who might want to make a tribute at her passing to do so by donating to Church of God missions schools. Missions and training of ministers for missionary service were passions of Miss Opal since she accepted Christ. She even taught in a Church of God missions school (known as the International Preparatory Institute) for several years.

Church of God World Missions has set up the Opal Morgan Memorial Missions Fund for individuals to contribute to missions schools. Please make your check payable to "Church of God World Missions" and either mail directly to their office or to the Morgantown Church of God (both addresses are below). It is necessary that you include Project # 750-0069 with your payment so it is designated to Miss Opal's memorial fund.

"Family Day" was held on Sunday morning, February 5th with great attendance and much excitment. About 120 people came together to worship the Lord and to enjoy fellowship. A lunch meal was served in the Family Life Center following the service, and the children enjoyed a variety of games. During the service Pastor Cory announced the theme and vision for the local church this year-- "Rebuilding the Walls" of our life, home, family, and church family. Many exciting things are planned for 2012 as Morgantown Church seeks to follow Christ, grow spiritually, and reach out to the community. Come join us as we move forward! Check out Pastor Cory's promo video below, an assortment of images from the day and a fast-play, time-lapse video of the children playing on the party jumpers!
